Mats Hummels: German Football Legend
Early Life and Career
Mats Julian Hummels (born December 16, 1988) is a German professional footballer who plays as a center-back. He began his professional career with FC Bayern Munich in 2007, where he spent six seasons and won three Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokals, and a Champions League trophy.
International Career
Hummels made his international debut for Germany in 2010 and has since earned over 70 caps. He was part of the German team that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and was named to the World Cup All-Star Team. Hummels has also represented Germany in two European Championships, in 2012 and 2020.
Current Status
Hummels is currently a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund in July 2024. He is reportedly being courted by several clubs in Europe, including his former club Bayern Munich.
